Bed project update

The bed project has stalled for a little while. Family sickness and travel all contributed to the delay. I spent a little time tonight working on it with some small success. The ends are close and I connected the sides and cut slats. The final pictures are shown, before finishing. But we are anixous to use it so it will probably be a weekend project.

Garden

Sarah harvested this huge zucchini from our garden yesterday. What a huge encouragement to our gardening adventure. We were beginning to think that we had completely failed this year. How we missed a veggie this size, I have no idea! But we are happy now, I think we used it in a shishkabob and also maybe in bibimbop.

I also hacked back some of our bushes to a managable size. I’m just not sure how you keep on top of this.

Flotation2

So, we are planning on going to the Indiana beach soon and we thought it would be good to get Ezra a floaty. Not that he is going to swim unattended or go water skiing or anything. Anyway, I’m posting some pictures of the experience. See these things are just not meant for people under 20 lbs. Btw, we got the last one i mean the life preserver one not the superman one.

Happy 5th

So the fireworks were delayed a day with the rain yesterday. Tonight we took Ezra to them here in Champaign. He didn’t mind it at all, which surprised me. At first he was interested and talked a little, then he seemed over stimulated and sort of fell asleep. In memorium I am posting some low quality photos of the occasion!

My bed project

So I’ve begun making a bed for my wife and me. Although we started from a book on making beds, the final prototype has a life of it’s own. I guess you can say that a router for father’s day and about fifty dollars in pine has given me plenty to do in the evening. But I’m ready now to complete this and sleep on a bed again (rather than on our mattress on the floor).
